Elevating Jewish Education Today.

Reimagining for
Tomorrow.

Education is the key to meeting this moment — our most powerful tool to ignite a thriving Jewish future.

We are at a defining moment for the Jewish people. The need for meaningful Jewish connection is surging, even as we face enormous challenges.

At The Jewish Education Project, we believe that we must ensure a future of proud, resilient Jews with a deep sense of belonging to the Jewish people and our enduring story.

By galvanizing the Jewish educational ecosystem — consisting of the researchers, the funding partners, the educators and the learners — we are driving collective impact.

The Jewish Education Project is reimagining Jewish education, ensuring every Jewish child graduates with

unshakeable pride,

a deep connection to Israel,

and the courage to stand against hatred.

Our Educational Focus

For 115 years, The Jewish Education Project has been a steadfast force in strengthening Jewish learning, first in New York, and now in all 50 states and over 150 countries. Through generations, our work has centered on supporting camps, synagogues, day schools, and JCCs that sustain Jewish life.

Today, we are channeling that legacy into three core areas of focus:

Our Commitment:

A generation that lives their Judaism with confidence, joy, and authentic pride.

Jewish education is not just about the transmission of knowledge and skills, but also about providing endless opportunities for joyous experiences.  We champion approaches that celebrate a Jewish tradition and culture filled with vibrancy and creativity, ensuring meaning and relevance.

JEWISH PRIDE & JOY

Our Commitment:

A generation that sees Israel as integral to their Jewish story.

We believe Israel is integral to what it means to be a Jew in the world today.  Israel education, at its best, is empowering Jews to develop their own personal relationship with Israel - whether through connection to the land, history, culture or people.

ISRAEL EDUCATION

Our Commitment:

Educational environments where Jewish students feel safe, valued, and accurately represented.

Antisemitism is rising -- and we are rising to meet it.  We equip educators with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent antisemitic incidents while building broader understanding of Jews, Judaism and Israel.

COMBATING ANTISEMITISM

We are bringing these focus areas to life through our signature initiatives, some of which include:

2028 New York Goals and Benchmarks

As we have for more than 100 years, The Jewish Education Project continues to serve as the primary organization supporting and strengthening Jewish education in the largest and most diverse Jewish community in the country. This special relationship with New York City, Westchester, and Long Island is central to our strategy, making New York the sandbox where we test new ideas and initiate new projects.

Highlights for the New York educational landscape:

Early childhood educators report increased confidence and capacity to deliver impactful Jewish learning grounded in progressive pedagogies.

JCCs deliver more and better-integrated Jewish and Israel education content and programming.

One quarter of RootOne participants are from New York, connecting to Israel and their identity through impactful education.

Educators report being more empowered, delivering stronger Jewish and Israel education.

Educators report that The Jewish Education Project staff supports them in connecting with professional peers, addressing their challenges and in sharing their successes.

Offer professional development and resources that educate New York City Public Schools' leadership about the Jewish people, Israel, antisemitism, and Jewish inclusion.
